An Old Nerd Is Not At All Sure Of His Takeover WarGames Predictions

Not now, but soon. Soon.
With an even more lackluster-looking Survivor Series than usual on the horizon, a stacked Takeover only needs four long matches to steal the weekend instead of the usual five. Predictions!

The Undisputed Era vs. The War Raiders, Ricochet, and Pete Dunne (WarGames)

Two rings, one cage, eight dudes, probably some shark cages, and a glorious mess. The Era are 1-0 in WarGames matches out of a total of one WarGames match in recent history, so I’ll give this one to the faces.

Aleister Black vs. Johnny Gargano

Newly heel Johnny Gargano is only a little bit interesting, so I’ll be curious to see how it expresses itself here and where it goes. I think it’s gotta go somewhere, and the only way for it to go somewhere is for him to beat Black and for the program to continue or Black to get called up. So Gargano wins.

Kairi Sane vs. Shayna Baszler (Women’s Championship)

This is a super tough call. I’m over these two trading the belt back and forth, and it’s time for someone to move on and someone to move up, but I don’t know who it’ll be.Sane makes more sense on the main roster than Baszler, who’d be in Rousey’s shadow on Raw and Becky Lynch’s shadow everywhere. So I’m gonna say Baszler retains. If I’m wrong, it means they’re grooming Bianca Belair for title contention next.

Tomato Champs vs. Velveteen Dream (Men’s Championship)

I want Dream to get the belt. Really I do. But not here and not at this show. Because if they do it here it’ll be so Evil DIY can run rampant over the tag division or the main roster, and it won’t be about The Dream getting his coronation. I want this to be the first in a series that somehow leads to Dream winning the belt Wrestlemania weekend. Ciampa retains.
