We all know the bunny slippers are doing all the heavy lifting here.Hasbro really needs to do a total rethink of their Big Guy engineering. I’m not saying I’m -done- with Big Guys from them until they improve things but I’ve certainly been very selective about them. But then Hasbro slapped bunny slippers and glasses on a Hulk and they pull me back in.
Not only are the joints limited, there’s a weird springy quality to all their Big Guy joints that limits the motion even more than you’d think. It’s not all about individual joint range, sometime’s it’s how the joints work in concert or the tolerances or the detent positions or the springback that just makes it tougher than you want to hit a pose you’d think they should hit.
Like this - the hops only go to 90 if they swing out at an angle, which is always maddening. The double knees are nice but the hips mean they don’t matter much. Getting him in a chair pose, even reclining, was tougher than it should have been, and if the footrest went any higher this would have been impossible.
The fireplace is a funny thing - Cathy asked if I wanted a cheap $3 plastic purple fireplace when we were in Target picking up an online order of normal stuff. I didn’t hear “purple” and it looked dark brown in teh Target lights and my retinas it was dark brown and then I got it under thee lights and it was purple but it was gonna be the Hulk’s fireplace anyway so I ran with it.
Big month for me puttin’ dudes in overstuffed armchairs.
